1. The service

Reel Draw is a free tool that picks a movie at random from a list built from Wikidata and The Movie Database (TMDB), using the filters you choose. It is for entertainment and inspiration. It is offered by Reel Draw Studio.

2. Information about movies

Movie details (year, runtime, genres, directors, countries, US MPA rating, synopses and descriptions) come from community-edited sources (Wikidata and TMDB) and may be incomplete or wrong. A film being picked is not a recommendation or a review. We leave out adult films, shorts, TV specials and films not yet released, but this filtering depends on how the sources label them and can’t be guaranteed. The family-friendly filter relies on recorded ratings; before watching with children, check the rating and content advice from an official source.

3. Availability and streaming

Streaming availability comes from JustWatch through TMDB, covers seven countries (the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand and India) and can change at any time; a film shown as streaming may have left the service. Always check on the service itself. Trailers are played by YouTube; one found by searching YouTube is matched by title and year and may occasionally be the wrong video. “All ways to watch” and other links go to third-party sites we don’t control. We are not responsible for their content or for purchases you make there.

4. Fair use of the site

Please don’t overload, scrape at high volume, probe for vulnerabilities, or use the site or feedback form to send spam or unlawful content. We may limit or block traffic that harms the service for others.

5. Feedback

If you send feedback, you allow us to use it to improve the site without owing you anything. Don’t send confidential information.

6. Intellectual property

The site’s design, text and code belong to its operator. Movie data from Wikidata is CC0 and free for anyone to reuse. Posters, synopses and other details from TMDB are provided under TMDB’s API terms and remain the property of TMDB, its contributors and the rights holders; streaming availability data is by JustWatch. Film titles, posters, streaming service names and logos belong to their owners and are shown only to identify the films and where to watch them.

7. No warranty

The site is provided “as is” and may change, be unavailable or contain errors. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises about accuracy or availability.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from using the site. The service is free; nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.

9. Changes

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version.
